Agentic AI Engineer - Officer
Job Description
Citi is seeking an intermediate Agentic AI Engineer (Officer) to help design, implement, enhance, and secure application systems. Based in Tampa, FL on a hybrid schedule, this role focuses on building customer-facing solutions, translating requirements into technical design, and strengthening software integrity through testing and risk-aware engineering decisions.
In this full-time position in the Technology organization (Applications Development), you will collaborate with users, clients, and cross-functional engineering teams, support compliance-focused approaches, and contribute to team capability through mentoring and subject matter guidance.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop system enhancements using application development procedures, scripting tools, and code analysis to deliver effective software solutions.
- Build and support customer-facing systems by partnering with users, clients, and cross-functional technology teams to identify needs and implement reliable programming solutions.
- Use programming language fundamentals to convert functional requirements into clear, well-structured design specifications.
- Analyze applications for vulnerabilities and security risks, conducting thorough testing and debugging to maintain software integrity.
- Identify root causes of technical issues and implement solutions using hands-on engineering experience.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for senior stakeholders and team members, mentoring junior analysts to improve team capability.
- Evaluate technical and business decisions with a focus on risk awareness, ensuring solutions meet compliance standards and reflect sound engineering judgment.
Requirements
- 2+ years of software engineering experience, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables.
- Practical knowledge of application development concepts, programming languages, and software design principles.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, evaluate options, and implement reasoned technical solutions.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting requirements in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
