AI Engineer - Enterprise Solutions

Sterling Infrastructure, Inc. is looking for an AI Engineer to help design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions that support business and construction operations. Based in The Woodlands, TX on-site, this role works closely with operations and IT to deliver secure, scalable applications using modern cloud and AI technologies.

You will partner with teams across the organization to turn real-world needs into working systems, then see those projects through deployment and ongoing support. The work includes developing AI agents, automations, dashboards, and data integrations, with an emphasis on practical outcomes like improved efficiency, reporting, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with business and construction operations teams to identify opportunities for technology and AI solutions.
• Design, develop, and deploy applications, AI agents, automations, dashboards, and data integrations.
• Build solutions using Microsoft Azure, Fabric, Power BI, and other modern AI technologies.
• Create AI-powered workflows using tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Azure AI.
• Translate complex data into practical tools that improve efficiency, reporting, and decision-making.
• Own projects from initial concept through deployment and ongoing support.
• Collaborate with IT, security, and business leaders to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, AI solutions, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills, including SQL, REST APIs, and experience with Python, .NET, TypeScript, or similar languages.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Fabric, Power Platform, or comparable cloud technologies.
• Hands-on experience developing AI solutions, automations, or data-driven applications.
• Ability to work independently, communicate with non-technical teams, and translate business requirements into deliverables.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

Even Better If You Have
