Unity Technologies SF is hiring a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to support the Vector Ads Modeling team in Mountain View, CA (onsite). The position is centered on progressing ads recommendation algorithms that help deliver personalized ads experiences, using a blend of research and productionalization.

As part of Vector, you will contribute to the next generation of an AI-powered advertising ecosystem by shaping model directions, validating new approaches at scale, and partnering with engineering and product to bring research into production.

Responsibilities

Identify opportunities and design a modeling roadmap that addresses customer needs.
Drive foundational research for new models and paradigms.
Use rich user data and large-scale compute to validate models rapidly.
Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to productionalize research.

Requirements

Hands-on experience applying state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning models to complex real-world problems, specifically in user behavior modeling.
Proficiency in Python and PyTorch, including deep learning frameworks.
Solid understanding of metric design, large-scale data analysis, and distributed computing frameworks.
Proven ability to drive projects end-to-end, solving critical cross-team problems and delivering measurable business results.

Compensation

Salary: USD 172,200 - 283,900 per year.
Gross Annual Salary bands: Zone A $218,400 - $283,900, Zone B $194,100 - $252,300, Zone C $172,200 - $223,900.
Beyond base salary, the role may be eligible for equity awards and participation in company incentive plans (for example, annual discretionary bonuses or sales commissions).
Final offer depends on geographic location, relevant experience, professional background, and skill set.
