Salary
USD 180,000 - 243,000 per year.
Experience
Minimum 8 years of professional engineering experience; currently operating as a Senior Software Engineer or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Contribute your perspective on best engineering practices.
- Collaborate across teams and time zones to deliver projects successfully.
- Lead complex technical projects from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing and production launch.
- Be hands-on while providing technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers.
- Identify and improve parts of the platform to enhance robustness and scalability.
- Develop code that will be used at scale and consider performance implications from the outset.
- Operate in a fast-launch, iterative environment, delivering live functionalities that impact merchants and shoppers within weeks.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional engineering experience; currently a Senior Software Engineer or similar level.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Flexible, team-oriented, and detail-minded.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
- Open to domestic and international travel.
- Proven experience building Java based web services (RESTful, SOAP).
- Experience designing performant relational database models, such as PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of software architecture paradigms including event-driven or message queuing systems.
