Apple’s Car Experience Systems Engineering team is looking for a Development and Tools Engineer to help shape how iPhone and vehicles communicate. In this role, you will build automotive system simulation tools, create reference designs, and support the development and adoption of iOS technologies used in connected car experiences.
This position is based in Cupertino, CA and is an onsite role. The company is seeking an engineer with 5+ years of software development experience and strong fundamentals in iOS and macOS tooling, validation, and production software delivery.
What you’ll work on
- Support the development and testing of new and existing automotive iOS features by creating reference designs.
- Design test and simulation tools for automotive system evaluation.
- Partner with automotive teams by communicating and supporting their integration efforts for iOS features.
What you bring
- Experience with and/or understanding of wireless and networking technologies.
- Video/graphics and audio processing experience is preferred.
- Experience developing interfaces used for automated tests is preferred.
- Unix/Linux experience is preferred.
- 5+ years of software development experience on iOS and/or macOS using C/C++/Objective-C/Swift; framework, application development, and user interface experience are preferred.
- Experience creating system test and validation tools.
- Experience developing software that has been released to production.
- Strong object-oriented programming and design experience.

Pay & benefits
The base pay range for this role is $150,400 to $277,600 per year. Base pay depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
