Job Description

Rippling is seeking an Analytics Engineer - Payments in New York, NY (onsite) to design, build, and maintain data services that process and provide visibility into payment data, enabling cross-functional teams with accurate dashboards across the money movement lifecycle, with a salary range of USD 114,000 to 199,500 per year.

Responsibilities

Collaborate across engineering, accounting, financial partnerships, and product teams to analyze and account for billions of dollars flowing through the Rippling payment platform.
Develop end-to-end analyses using SQL, Python, or other scripting and statistical tools, and create real-time metrics dashboards to manage key financial and operating levers of the business.
Monitor payment flows between systems, banks, processors, and inter-company accounts; perform daily account reconciliations; and investigate discrepancies.
Respond swiftly to emerging issues, summarize facts, and provide recommendations for timely resolution of critical financial matters.
Collaborate with stakeholders in Accounting, Compliance, Treasury, and other teams to capture business requirements and develop scalable reporting and reconciliation automation solutions, including internal tools or third-party implementations.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of reconciliation processes and procedures.
Prepare and deliver data and reporting solutions to support month-end close, regulatory and compliance reporting, and Internal/External Audit activities.
Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and concise presentations and reports.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related fields.
4+ years of experience applying analytics engineering, analysis, modeling, or exploratory analysis to large datasets, preferably in payments processing, quote-to-cash, or financial reporting.
Experience with data warehousing, ETL, and reporting tools such as Snowflake, Tableau, dbt, and Dagster.
Extensive SQL experience across the data science development lifecycle, from initial analysis and model development to deployment.
Experience partnering with engineering, finance, and accounting teams to assess data needs and build automated reporting pipelines.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders and senior leadership (including C-suite) across the organization.
Bonus points for experience with general accounting principles, the general ledger close process, and regulatory compliance.
