Auria is hiring an early-career Software Engineer to help build and evolve a satellite resource management system. This position supports design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of software components, with hybrid or remote options available and a preference for candidates in Colorado Springs, CO or Bethesda, MD.
Location
Bethesda, MD (hybrid) with remote options available, depending on contract and candidate location.
Salary
USD 120,000 - 140,000 per year. The final offer depends on the selected candidate’s qualifications, including skills, education, experience, and position level.
Role Summary
The Software Engineer will contribute to the design, building, testing, and enhancement of software for a program focused on satellite resource management. The work includes developing modules, integrating components into delivery cycles, and addressing defects found through testing and review.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new software modules or enhancements aligned with software requirements
- Create unit tests and conduct code reviews
- Integrate and test software components as part of the program’s delivery cycle
- Debug and resolve defects identified during integration, testing, and review
Required Qualifications
- Mission-driven approach with a collaborative mindset and motivation to build solutions that protect and serve
- Demonstrated experience designing and developing robust, maintainable software using C++17 or newer
- At least 2 years of experience with Linux and C++17
- Strong knowledge of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Experience using CMake
- Strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills (examples provided: probability & statistics, linear algebra, multivariable calculus)
- Background in, or exposure to, software application development on Linux and Web platforms
- Exposure to agile and incremental software engineering practices

Education
Bachelor’s degree or greater in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field with demonstrated experience.
