The mid level Systems Engineer role at Booz Allen Hamilton supports Navy directed energy system development, applying systems engineering across the system development life cycle to deliver government solutions. This onsite position is based in King George, VA.
Responsibilities
- Deliver products and services to government clients within the directed energy field.
- Address complex technical challenges with innovative solutions.
- Develop advanced technology concepts and approaches.
- Guide system development from concept to final product.
- Apply systems engineering methods across one or more SDLC areas, including concept development, technical planning, requirements development, system analysis, system design, integration, verification, transition, operations, obsolescence, and disposal.
- Participate in program integrated product teams (IPTs) and promote proper application of SE processes.
- Demonstrate experience with the SE process for system acquisitions, including SE plans, SE technical reviews (SETRs), system certification processes, and specialty engineering activities.
- Develop expertise in Systems Engineering, with exposure to rapid acquisitions and fielding systems aboard Navy ships, and grow capabilities in directed energy technology and integration.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience performing systems engineering for weapons systems
- 2+ years of model based systems engineering (MBSE) experience and MBSE tools for architectures, requirements, and interfaces
- Experience with concept development, design and development of system architecture, systems hardware, and software design and development
- Experience generating SE requirements for artifacts such as System Requirements Documents (SRDs), Subsystem Requirements Documents (SSRDs), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Experience with risk management
- Knowledge of configuration management, program protection or cybersecurity, system safety, and SE certification processes

Nice If You Have
- 5+ years of experience in SE with U S Navy Surface Ships or armed services directed energy systems
- Experience conducting trouble report tracking, test and evaluation of system performance, and documentation of test results
- Experience using Cameo for MBSE
- Experience using the Atlassian Tool Suite, including Jira for requirements, Zephyr for test case development, and Confluence for data reporting
- Experience with Navy Surface Ship weapons integration requirements
- Experience conducting configuration management, program protection or cybersecurity, system safety, and certification
- Knowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) techniques
- Ability to identify and support test and integration activities required to verify and validate the system against requirements
- Master’s degree
- Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification
Work Model
Onsite: Work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or a customer facility, with collaboration with colleagues and customers as required by the role.
Hybrid: The role may require frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, in alignment with leadership expectations, with possible visits to customer facilities.
Remote: If listed as remote, there may be occasions to work in person at Booz Allen or customer facilities.

Compensation
The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). This range reflects typical pay for the role and is one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package. This posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.
