Job Description

Coordinate interconnection engineering and project management activities that support reliability and adequacy for the PJM bulk power system in a hybrid role in Audubon, PA.

Responsibilities

Act as a liaison and build external interfaces between PJM and stakeholders, including transmission owners, generation and project developers, and other entities, for design and scheduling of new connections to the PJM bulk power system.
Develop and coordinate project work plans for generation and transmission system reinforcement projects spanning multiple customer needs across multiple transmission owner systems.
Provide project management support by establishing timelines and monitoring milestone and critical path progress from engineering design through signing of the interconnection service agreement.
Work proactively with other applicable PJM division members to coordinate system reinforcement requirements.
Coordinate, develop, and issue interconnection studies and agreements for generation and merchant transmission projects.
Monitor and analyze existing project management practices; promote development of new methods and adoption of improved or emerging progress monitoring technologies for construction activity development.
Develop and implement tactical plans aligned with the division/department strategy.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Electrical Engineering (or experience equivalent).
0-5 years of relevant experience: field experience with major substation and transmission line construction and maintenance, or experience in generation operations and construction and maintenance activities.
Ability to produce high-quality work products with strong attention to detail.
Experience performing quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Ability to apply mathematical and electrical theory.
Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support.

Technology

PSS/e

Preferred

MS degree in Engineering
Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions
Experience using PSS/e (power system analysis program)
