Job Description
Georgia Tech is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to design and implement secure network architectures and security controls that protect the university’s digital assets. The role collaborates with IT teams to deploy security technologies, analyzes security requirements, and develops robust security protocols on site in Atlanta, GA.
Location and Compensation
Location: Atlanta, GA (onsite). Compensation: USD 120,278 per year.
Responsibilities
- Architect and deploy fortified network designs and security controls to shield the institution’s assets from internal and external threats.
- Assess security requirements and craft policies, standards, and procedures to guide cybersecurity implementations.
- Perform security assessments and penetration tests to gauge effectiveness of controls and identify improvement opportunities.
- Monitor security alerts and events, detect potential threats, and ensure timely remediation of vulnerabilities.
- Maintain awareness of current threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to uphold a robust security posture.
- Create and deliver training for technical staff on secure coding practices and the integration of security controls in system designs.
- Document security configurations, processes, and incident response steps to support compliance and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to incident response activities, including breach investigations, impact analysis, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with Information Technology teams to deploy and configure security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption solutions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- Experience: Eight or more years of relevant experience.
