Cybersecurity Engineer

Envision Healthcare is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen its security program within a Cyber Security Framework. This onsite role in the United States focuses on improving security monitoring, vulnerability management, and protection and detection capabilities, supported by threat intelligence. The position blends tactical cybersecurity work with communication and collaboration to help align security practices with business objectives.

What you will do

• Assist with the development of cyber security strategy, including defining departmental goals and objectives for the program.
• Validate security program maturity using repeatable processes and metrics.
• Respond to and investigate complex cybersecurity events and incidents.
• Analyze log information to correlate security events.
• Detect, analyze, track, and guide remediation of complex security vulnerabilities.
• Research emerging threats and implement or lead preventive control improvements.
• Support, maintain, and enhance protection and detection security technologies.
• Develop and execute security technology improvement plans.
• Provide guidance to business owners on implementing security controls for organizational programs.
• Oversee creation and delivery of security metrics, including technical analysis of performance and trends.
• Investigate and recommend new technologies to support security operations.
• Act as a subject matter expert for analysts, assisting with escalated issues.
• Create internal security department documentation.
• Be available for on-call coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year College or University (required).
• 4 years of work-related experience (required).
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA, NIST, and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks.
• Experience managing, supporting, and implementing protection and detection technologies, including endpoint protection, email/web/network firewall, vulnerability scanning, and SIEM platforms.
• CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar credentials for at least 3 years (required).
