Cybersecurity Engineer

Secure and support the College’s computing and network infrastructure through planning, risk management, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement additions, deletions, and major modifications to the college wide information security infrastructure.
• Conduct vulnerability scans of college systems, review scan reports, and support timely remediation with appropriate stakeholders.
• Perform security risk assessments and assist with remediation activities.
• Investigate and respond to security anomalies identified through system security log reviews or reported by college stakeholders.
• Support development and enforcement of college wide information security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
• Perform security analysis to protect institutional business processes while supporting faculty, student, and administrative needs.
• Assist the College community with identifying and remediating security policy violations.
• Run periodic risk assessments for data systems and business processes to identify vulnerabilities, define acceptable risk levels, and recommend risk reduction approaches.
• Respond to security incidents, perform forensic investigations, and coordinate incident resolution and end user training.
• Install, configure, and maintain Access Control Lists (ACLs), firewalls, and security appliances to protect institutional data.
• Review, test, and recommend new security enhancements to protect and monitor on premise and cloud hosted business processes.
• Communicate security processes and procedures and provide training to the College community.
• Assist with implementation of security measures protecting the College’s computer systems, networks, and data.
• Provide technical support for the College’s academic cybersecurity program.

Requirements

• Associates degree in cybersecurity with at least 1 year of cybersecurity or information technology experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity.
• Experience securing operating systems, networks, and various applications at an enterprise level.
• Cybersecurity certifications preferred.

Compensation

• USD 71,029 - 117,400 per year
• Compensation within the posted range is based on education level and/or years of experience; generally hired in the lower third of the scale.
