Cybersecurity Engineer

TekSynap is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to complete routine project tasks focused on specialized cybersecurity challenges and to provide security engineering support across information systems. The position is hybrid in Fort Belvoir, VA, and requires extensive relevant IT experience, applicable DoD 8570 credentials, and an active Secret clearance.

Location and Work Setup

• Location: Fort Belvoir, VA (hybrid)
• Work environment: Hybrid – Office
• Remote support: Primarily remote with periodic on-site meetings at Fort Belvoir
• Noise level: Low
• Work schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday
• Potential schedule changes: Evenings and weekends may be requested to meet program and contract needs
• Travel: Up to 10%

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of routine project tasks applied to specialized cybersecurity problems
• Work on integrations of electronic processes or methodologies to resolve total system problems or technology problems tied to cybersecurity requirements
• Analyze information security requirements
• Use analytical and systematic approaches to resolve workflow, organizational, and planning problems
• Provide security engineering support across planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, and integration of information systems

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Ten (10) years of relevant IT experience
• Operation Technology experience: Five (5) years of relevant Operation Technology
• DoD 8570 IAT Level III Baseline Certification: One of the following
  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner with Continuing Education (CASP+ CE)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP or Associate)
  • GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED)
  • GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • Information Assurance System Architect and Engineering (IASAE Level III) (within 6 months of contract start)
  • CISSP-ISSAP (Information Systems Security Architecture Professional)
  • CISSP-ISSEP (Information Systems Security Engineering Professional)
  • CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional)
• Additional certification requirements: One or more of the following Microsoft credentials
  • Microsoft Certified solutions Associate or Expert
• Additional certification requirements: One or more of the following Cisco credentials
  • Cisco Certified Network Administrator
• Additional certification requirements: One or more of the following for Microsoft Azure
  • Microsoft Azure Security Technologies

Salary

• Target range: USD 80,000 - 120,000 per yearly
