Job Description
ClearHarbor Systems is looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to help strengthen systems, networks, and cloud environments. In this onsite role in Riverside, CA, you will focus on assessing security risk, enhancing controls, monitoring threats through SIEM, and supporting incident response activities.
This position is centered on turning security data into actionable improvements across infrastructure and development practices, with an emphasis on risk evaluation, vulnerability management, and compliance-aligned documentation.
What you’ll do
- Use SIEM tools to monitor security events, analyze logs, investigate alerts, and coordinate incident response and recovery.
- Assess vulnerabilities and security risks; recommend mitigations and support system hardening, security assessments, and threat detection.
- Design and maintain network and cloud security controls, including firewalls, VPNs, identity and access management, encryption, and EDR.
- Support security compliance and documentation aligned with NIST standards and frameworks including ISO 27000/27001/27002 and PCI.
- Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to integrate security into architecture, system administration, and the SDLC.
What you bring
- Experience in cybersecurity, information security, security engineering, vulnerability management, incident response, or security analysis.
- Knowledge of computer networking, network protocols, operating systems, and IT infrastructure.
- Familiarity with security monitoring, firewalls, authentication, access controls, encryption, and risk assessment.
Tools and technologies
- SIEM platforms such as Splunk
- Cisco ASA, Cisco ISE, IDS, Nmap, Burp Suite, and EDR tools
- Networking and security concepts including LAN/WAN, routing protocols, IPsec, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
- Operating systems such as Linux and Windows
- Cloud security engineering with Azure and Google Cloud Platform
- PKI, Terraform, Python, PowerShell, and VMware
- Compliance frameworks including FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST, ISO 27000, ISO 27001, ISO 27002, and PCI
Location
- Riverside, CA (onsite, in person)
Compensation
- $110,000 - $120,000 per year
