Cybersecurity Engineer | Application Security (Remote)

This remote, Atlanta, GA based role at Home Depot / THD focuses on application security, designing, implementing, and monitoring threat defense and user access management to safeguard the business environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot escalated security incidents and resolve them promptly
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions
• Collaborate with Enterprise Technology to configure and integrate cybersecurity systems and services that mitigate risk
• Design, build, configure, maintain and monitor threat defense capabilities and user access management

Minimum Qualifications

• Age 18 or older
• Legally permitted to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to scripting, automation, or data analysis (e.g., Python, SQL)
• Familiarity with Linux or Windows system administration concepts, CI/CD
• Internship or academic experience in cybersecurity, IT operations, or related fields
• Experience in writing custom or secure code
• Knowledge of automation, Go, Java and Rust programming
• AI experience or exposure to building AI projects (deployments)
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
• Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including vulnerabilities, threats, and basic risk principles
• Basic familiarity with enterprise infrastructure concepts (servers, networking, and operating systems)
• Introductory knowledge of cloud computing models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) preferred
