Cybersecurity Engineer III
Job Description
Cobb EMC is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer III to help safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the corporate enterprise network. This hybrid role in Marietta, GA focuses on implementing and supporting security technologies, maintaining cybersecurity standards, strengthening systems, and contributing to security operations and incident response efforts.
Role Focus
In this position, you will support security operations and network protection by installing and maintaining enterprise security systems, troubleshooting network security issues, contributing to security monitoring capabilities, and assisting with compliance monitoring tied to Cobb EMC cybersecurity policies. You will also collaborate across teams on security assessments, audits, and network project planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and support enterprise security systems.
- Coordinate the installation and maintenance of network security software and hardware with peer teams.
- Diagnose issues involving network security, software, and hardware, then implement effective solutions and enhancements.
- Help develop, implement, and maintain a Security Operations Center.
- Coordinate with service vendors to ensure equipment and software are properly serviced.
- Oversee maintenance and inventory of network security systems.
- Assist management with budgeting and purchasing security hardware and software.
- Research future security technology, software, and service needs.
- Contribute to annual budgeting and monthly budget variance processes.
- Assist IT leadership in monitoring activities for compliance with Cobb EMC cybersecurity policies.
- Coordinate planning, design, and execution of network projects.
- Assist with security assessments and audits.
- Provide hands-on technical training to peer teams.
- Actively participate on the Security Operations Team and the Security Education, Training, and Awareness Team.
- Serve as an active member of the Cyber Security Incident Response Team.
- Recommend relevant off-site technical training opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology Security or other highly technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in Information Technology, including 6 years in Network Infrastructure and Security.
- Proficiency in the installation and maintenance of Firewall’s.
- Proficiency in the installation and maintenance of Remote Access systems.
- Proficiency in the installation and maintenance of Network Access Control systems.
- Experience with Network Security Monitoring systems and Network Authentication systems.
- Experience with Network Security assessments.
- Linux administration experience.
- Microsoft domain services experience.
- Experience with cybersecurity programs.
- Knowledge of data loss prevention.
- Knowledge of hacking techniques.
- Knowledge of vulnerability management programs.
- Knowledge of virtual environments.
- Knowledge of scripting languages.
- Knowledge of project management concepts.
- Demonstrated public speaking and presentation skills.
- Ability to demonstrate creativity and out-of-box thinking when analyzing and delivering solutions.

Compensation and Location
Location: Marietta, GA (hybrid). Pay: USD 53 per hourly. Minimum experience: 8 years.
