Data Engineer – Mid

Castalia Systems is seeking a mid-level Data Engineer to convert client data into clear, evidence-based answers for decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement algorithms and data systems that combine appropriate tools and frameworks to transform disparate data into objective outputs
• Apply analytical and data science knowledge to support informed client decisions
• Build a practical understanding of client questions and translate them into data-driven analysis workflows
• Develop a deep grasp of the data, including what it means and how it can be used to answer analytic needs

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience using statistical methods and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data sources
• 1+ years experience with R or Python
• Experience applying scientific methods to qualitative and quantitative analyses
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment
• TS/SCI clearance with willingness to take a polygraph exam

• Experience with VS Code, GitHub, Jira, or Confluence
• Knowledge of DoD Intelligence processes, activities, standards, and analytic tools
• Experience with data gathering, cleansing, and parsing

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or Data Science

Compensation

• Salary: USD 105,000 - 110,000 per year
• Projected compensation range: $105,000.00 to $110,000.00 (annualized USD)
