Development Engineer

Ensign-Bickford Industries, Inc. is hiring a Development Engineer in Moorpark, CA (onsite) to lead technical execution for internal and external product work from concept through development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the technical data package, including product testing requirements and testing methods
• Create 3D conceptual models aligned to customer design requirements
• Conduct design trade studies and complete hand calculations
• Perform tolerance studies to support design fidelity
• Collaborate with customers on design, interface, and functional details
• Work with suppliers to rapid prototype parts for risk reduction testing
• Own requirements generation, allocation, and flow down
• Support technical compliance and risk assessment/management
• Coordinate the project team’s technical tasks
• Develop and manage cost estimates for proposals and program activities
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure production viability of new designs
• Create required documentation and manage internal and customer approval of documentation

Requirements

• BS/MS in an engineering discipline
• Experience in project, design, or related engineering roles
• Mechanical and/or Aerospace are the preferred engineering disciplines
• Proven leadership of technical teams
• Ability to apply customer requirements and government/military specifications to design
• Demonstrated experience generating 3D models and 2D drawings ( SolidWorks preferred )
• Capable of applying GD&T and understanding its impact on part cost
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills for interaction with management and customers
• Demonstrated problem-solving capability and root cause analysis competency
• Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
