Electrical Design Engineer
Job Description
Join the vehicle development team supporting Functional ECUs and Smart Security systems at an onsite location in Saline, MI.
Responsibilities
- Support vehicle application of Functional ECUs, including power slide door ECU, power tailgate ECU, Seat ECU, Window ECU, Sunroof ECU, and related components
- Support vehicle application of Smart Security, including Smart ECU, Immobilizer (Immbobi), antennas, and related subsystems
- Plan structure and develop designs for Functional ECUs and Smart Security through target setting, packaging, and style feasibility aligned to performance, customer needs, and cost
- Ensure designs meet regulatory compliance requirements while balancing technical and cost objectives
- Create and issue design specifications to suppliers and coordinate supplier schedule, performance, and quality
- Maintain the part list and develop internal design documentation, including engineering change instructions and wiring specifications
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
- 5+ years of experience as an electrical design engineer
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work up to 30% overtime
