Responsibilities

  • Continuing to expand knowledge and guide design guides, standards, systems, and applicable engineering codes in line with B&V policies
  • Providing technical guidance to team members across projects and disciplines
  • Independently applying knowledge and adhering to the B&V quality program for assigned tasks
  • Ensuring compliance with the B&V quality program where appropriate
  • Offering guidance and direction to others as needed
  • Supporting continuous improvement and change management efforts
  • Preparing engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects
  • Researching and recommending equipment and material selections
  • Overseeing data collection, assimilation, and management for engineering work
  • Preparing engineering calculations following standard methods and principles
  • Managing assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements
  • Applying advanced engineering techniques to problem solving
  • Delegating appropriate tasks to junior staff to develop project execution depth
  • Reviewing lower level engineering work and assignments
  • Leading production teams or coordinating multi-discipline activity as a responsible project lead
  • Coordinating with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects
  • Assisting in identifying key client interests and drivers on high voltage substation projects
  • Communicating client drivers to the project team and shaping work approaches to address them
  • Providing support to business development or pursuit activities as needed
  • Being recognized as a technical specialist and offering consultation within a practice area
  • Designing a complete project or supporting multiple projects with complex technical challenges
  • Fostering knowledge management and mentoring others
  • Developing and applying advanced engineering concepts to unique problems
  • Participating in performance management, mentoring, recognition, and corrective actions as required
  • Engaging in career planning and learning and development opportunities
  • Mentoring lower level professionals and identifying potential successors
  • Assisting with resource management strategy when needed
  • Overseeing engineering resources for small groups within a single discipline
  • Ensuring policies, procedures, and processes are effectively implemented and communicated for the work group
  • Maintaining adherence to corporate and division programs
  • Approving timesheets and expense reports

Requirements

  • Substation QA/QC Reviews – quality assurance and checks for substation work
  • Substation design experience – physical and/or protection and controls
  • Experience coordinating and communicating with clients, multidisciplinary leads, and project managers
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited program
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search as applicable

Work Environment

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the initial 90 days, at the manager's discretion based on performance and assignments.
