Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Mechanical Engineer

VDART TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support mechanical design and engineering activities for EPC projects, from early concept through production. This contract role is based in Austin, TX (in person) and involves preparing permit-ready construction drawings and coordinated, code-compliant HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and related process systems across key project phases.

Role Overview

• Mechanical Engineer supporting mechanical design and engineering for EPC projects

Responsibilities

• Develop construction drawings for permit and manage multiple projects across planning, design, bid, and construction
• Apply engineering judgement by making technical assumptions, completing assigned work independently, and drawing conclusions from evidence and calculations
• Produce quantity take-offs and support cost estimating in a timely manner
• Use engineering fundamentals and a broad set of mechanical tools to address technical issues
• Develop designs that are cost effective, constructable, and code compliant while meeting client quality and schedule requirements
• Resolve design issues with thorough, creative coordination across disciplines to deliver a fully coordinated design package for construction

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or equivalent experience
• Minimum 4 years of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and process systems design experience
• Design experience across a wide range of project types
• Fundamental understanding of mechanical equipment including Dehumidification Units, Air Scrubbers, Dust Collectors, Heat Exchangers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, Compressors, process gas/fluid systems, Air Handling Units, Terminal Units, Fans / Blowers, Pumps, Control Valves and Instrumentation, Hazardous Exhaust, and Heat Recovery Systems
• Knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to facilities engineering
• Proficiency with HVAC load calculations in HAP and tools including Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, Revizto, and Navisworks
• Construction administration experience, including submittals, RFI’s, and field verification
• Experience preparing mechanical contract drawings and engineering specifications
