Information Security Engineer
Job Description
Protect GPA’s virtual data resources by designing, administering, and monitoring security controls across networks, email, identity, and endpoint access.
Responsibilities
- Configure, audit, monitor, and support network firewalls.
- Engineer and maintain cyber security measures to prevent and detect security breaches and intrusions.
- Configure and maintain master consoles to monitor performance of security appliances and security software.
- Identify potential security violations and take appropriate action to report incidents.
- Perform, coordinate, and document security-relevant changes.
- Configure, maintain, and support Microsoft Exchange/Outlook hybrid email systems.
- Configure, maintain, and support web-filtering software and appliances.
- Create, maintain, and update security system documentation and drawings.
- Configure, maintain, and support Microsoft Active Directory and Entra Id.
- Maintain network Domain Controllers for maximum uptime.
- Manage systems that control remote access to company networks.
- Assist with configuration and support of Mobile Device Management software.
- Provide information security and awareness oversight and/or training as required.
- Complete other assigned duties.
- Comply with all applicable policies and standards.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of networking and security operations including firewalls, Cisco Enterprise Security systems, intrusion detection systems, VPN, DNS, and anti-virus software.
- Experience with authentication systems and log management.
- Experience with content filtering and internet computing concepts.
- Office 365 administration knowledge.
- Windows Operating Systems knowledge, including desktop environments.
- Group Policy administration experience is highly desired.
- Minimum experience: 1 year.
- Preferred education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
Experience
- 1–3 years progressively responsible information technology work experience (preferred).
- 1–3 years experience with firewall administration, data security systems, operating systems, and Active Directory design/configuration (preferred).
Supervision and Job Scope
- Works under the supervision of the Director of IT - Engineering.
- Installs, administers, and troubleshoots GPA’s cyber security infrastructure.
- Supports firewall administration, maintains Active Directory, assists with design/configuration of network, server, and application infrastructure, and helps ensure staff training aligns with security policies.

- Promotes a safe work environment through participation in safety initiatives and reporting unsafe conditions and behaviors.
