Information Systems Security Engineer
Job Description
Information Systems Security Engineer focusing on RMF/ATO and DoD cybersecurity for government clients.
Responsibilities
- Integrate requirements into the system through secure architecture, design, development, and configuration.
- Coordinate changes with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and implement and enforce all DoD cybersecurity policies and procedures as defined by relevant documentation.
- Document, monitor, update, and manage systems to maintain an acceptable security posture and achieve Interim Authority to Operate (IATO) and Authority to Operate (ATO).
- Support DoD and military customers in developing advanced cybersecurity solutions, including technical implementations, RMF, and policy analysis.
- Contribute to developing solutions for complex problems involving hybrid systems from a cybersecurity perspective.
- Operate with minimal supervision within established procedures and practices.
- Collaborate in a mentoring-rich environment with hands-on problem solving to grow as a team and deliver optimal customer outcomes.
- Support efforts to secure and protect critical AI and ML networks for essential client missions and operations.
Requirements
- 3+ years guiding a client through the full RMF and ATO lifecycle.
- Experience as an ISSE, ISSO, or in an IT, cybersecurity, or ITSM role.
- Experience conducting enterprise vulnerability scanning with ACAS, leading risk remediation, performing security control assessments, and integrating security controls to ensure DoD directives and STIG compliance.
- Experience achieving system certification, accreditation, assessment, and authorization, including IATT and ATOs.
- Experience engineering, deploying, and hardening robust security solutions such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM tools to mitigate emerging threats.
- Knowledge of systems and software engineering management processes, applied to DoD acquisition throughout the life cycle.
- Knowledge of DoD communications, cybersecurity, and IT systems.
- TS/SCI clearance.
- Education and experience options: Associate's degree with 7+ years in Cybersecurity, Bachelor's degree with 3+ years in Cybersecurity, or 9+ years in Cybersecurity in lieu of a degree.
- DoD 8140 IAT Level II Certification.

Clearance
TS/SCI clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Work Model
- Remote: If listed as remote, there may be occasions requiring in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
- Hybrid: If listed as hybrid, you will work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, per leadership expectations and role needs, with potential visits to customer facilities.
- Onsite: Work primarily at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers as required.

Compensation
USD 77,500 - 176,000 per yearly
