IT Security Engineer

Arkwin Industries is seeking an IT Security Engineer in Bethpage, NY (onsite) to identify, remediate, and track security vulnerabilities across the organization while delivering day-to-day IT support, with a focus on sustaining CMMC compliance and corporate cybersecurity standards in defense or aerospace environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and advisories from internal tools and external feeds including CISA, vendor advisories, and threat intelligence services
• Perform vulnerability scanning, assessment, and risk analysis with Tanium
• Assist with applying patches and updates after proper testing to ensure compatibility
• Prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities based on risk
• Coordinate enterprise patch management across all endpoints using Tanium and ManageEngine Endpoint Central
• Configure and maintain system configurations aligned with NIST SP 800-171 security controls
• Assist in achieving CMMC Level 2 compliance, including audit preparation, documentation, and evidence collection
• Track and report on vulnerability posture, remediation timelines, and patch compliance across all systems
• Maintain thorough documentation for system configurations, imaging standards, patch cycles, and compliance controls

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of IT support or help desk experience with exposure to vulnerability remediation and patching
• Strong troubleshooting across Windows, networking, and endpoint security, with experience in vulnerability management and patching
• Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Eligible for any required U.S. government authorizations
