Machine Learning Engineer

TikTok seeks a Machine Learning Engineer for the Business Governance team, focusing on content safety systems that utilize multimodal understanding and large language model technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement content safety algorithms for TikTok, Lemon8, and short‑form drama platforms, enabling multimodal risk detection across video, text, image, and audio
• Apply machine learning, deep learning, and large-model technologies to strengthen moderation pipelines, boost operational efficiency, and ensure robustness and production stability
• Lead the training and deployment of LLMs and MLLMs for safety use cases, including post‑training techniques such as SFT, RLHF, DPO, and safety alignment
• Explore and productionize capabilities like AI Agents, multimodal reasoning, and video understanding to build next‑generation intelligent moderation systems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, or related fields
• Strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning, with familiarity with Transformer architectures, LLMs, and MLLMs
• Hands‑on experience with Python, PyTorch, distributed training, and large‑scale data processing; solid algorithmic and software engineering skills
• Proven ability to solve complex problems and collaborate effectively in cross‑functional teams, delivering projects to a high standard
