Job Description

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join its Indianapolis operations in a hybrid work setup. The role focuses on building and deploying AI and ML tools to deliver insights across Rolls-Royce products, blending data cleaning, model development, and the clear communication of findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. This is a full-time position that emphasizes practical impact through digital technologies within the engineering ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with IT and Rolls-Royce Fleet engineering teams to pursue opportunities for applying digital technologies that maximize impact and value.
  • Understand, clean, and analyze large datasets from engine sensors, test rigs, and fleet operations.
  • Build, train, and validate machine learning models for tasks such as engineering knowledge search, anomaly research, production support, and predictive maintenance.
  • Document work clearly and present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Data Science, or Physics with 2+ years of machine learning experience; OR
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Data Science, or Physics; OR
  • PhD in Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Data Science, or Physics.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to be eligible for consideration.
