Nuclear Safety Analysis Engineer — Boiling Water Reactor (BWR)

Westinghouse Electric is seeking a Nuclear Safety Analysis Engineer to advance design-basis LOCA analyses for Boiling Water Reactors. The role centers on turning plant drawings and specifications into high-fidelity models, performing LOCA studies with proprietary system codes, and delivering audit-ready safety documentation. Based in Cranberry Township, PA with remote options across the United States, the position emphasizes compliance with licensing bases and assessing how design or operating changes influence safety. The role offers a salary range of USD 85,200 to 106,500 per year.

Responsibilities

• Perform design-basis LOCA analyses for BWR units using proprietary system codes.
• Translate plant drawings and specifications into high-fidelity models.
• Interrogate results, validate assumptions, and deliver audit-ready documentation.
• Field plant-specific inquiries on LOCA behavior from internal teams and customers.
• Track and apply plant licensing bases to ensure compliance.
• Apply and critique correlations for two-phase flow and heat transfer.
• Quantify the impacts of design or operating changes on safety analyses.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nuclear, Chemical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 4+ years in the nuclear sector.
• 4+ years of safety analysis experience.
• Engineering degree proficiency.

Reporting & Location

Reports to the Manager, BWR Safety & Analysis. Work remote within the U.S. or in a hybrid setup in Cranberry Township, PA.
