Operation AI Engineer (Level 2)
Job Description
Lockheed Martin is seeking an Operation AI Engineer (Level 2) to join its Fort Worth site. The role centers on developing, deploying, and maintaining AI-based production-operations solutions, ranging from data analysis and front-end development to practical deployment in live environments. This position blends hands-on engineering work with collaboration across teams to translate operational challenges into scalable AI-enabled tools.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and testing of AI applications that support production operations.
- Work with senior engineers to apply established software development practices that promote code quality and scalability.
- Gather and document requirements from production teams, translating key operational challenges into functional specifications.
- Aid front-end development by building intuitive user interfaces for interacting with AI-driven tools.
- Perform data extraction, cleaning, and exploratory analysis on large production datasets to support model training and performance monitoring.
- Assist in deploying AI solutions in pilot environments, provide basic user training, and incorporate feedback for incremental improvements.
- Support change management by communicating updates to end users and ensuring tools remain maintainable and adaptable for future needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML Engineering or a related technical field.
- Foundational understanding of relational databases and database management.
- Proficiency in Python and core machine learning concepts, with the ability to independently develop, train, and evaluate models using libraries such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Experience building full-stack web applications using modern frameworks, with hands-on exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI (GenAI).
