Security Engineer

Addition Financial Credit Union is hiring a Security Engineer to help keep banking systems secure, highly available, and aligned with regulatory requirements. This onsite role in Lake Mary, FL partners closely with IT professionals to safeguard network and data, build security capabilities, and manage incidents when they occur.

The Security Engineer will focus on designing protective controls, monitoring for threats, and reducing the likelihood and impact of security events. The position includes responsibilities that support compliance, tooling, policy management, employee security awareness, and coordination with internal teams and outside vendors.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security protocols to protect banking systems and data.
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
• Develop and maintain security tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies.
• Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to security breaches.
• Provide guidance on security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Anticipate security alerts, incidents, and disasters to reduce their likelihood.
• Analyze and respond to security events to determine root cause, including participation in an on-call rotation and after-hours support when appropriate.
• Recommend and install appropriate tools and countermeasures.
• Define, implement, and maintain corporate security policies.
• Train employees on security awareness and procedures.
• Coordinate security plans with outside vendors.
• Work with IT Management on the annual security budget.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.

Certifications

• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
• CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
• GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials) is preferred
