Job Description

Within Deloitte's SFL Scientific practice, the Senior AI Engineer designs, deploys, and optimizes AI infrastructure and data architectures for a range of client projects. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Location

Minneapolis, MN (onsite)

Salary

USD 128,000 - 252,500 per year

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to design, build, and deploy architectures that support machine learning and automation initiatives.
  • Apply advanced skills in modern data architecture, data science engineering, data transformation, and management of both structured and unstructured data across cloud and on premises environments.
  • Design and steer development of scalable, high-performance data architecture solutions that support client business needs and AI or GenAI use cases.
  • Support and enhance data architectures and pipelines; define database schemas for Graph, SQL, and NoSQL to enable scalable algorithm deployment aligned with agile priorities.
  • Participate in architectural and deployment discussions to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and highly available in cloud or on-prem settings.
  • Adopt best engineering practices in automation, HPC, and AI/GenAI infrastructure design patterns.
  • Define and lead technology proof of concepts to validate the feasibility of new data and cloud technology solutions.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and effective execution in modern data architecture and technology modernization efforts.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members on technical best practices and professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, etc.) or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, software engineering, or MLOps with a focus on AI and machine learning deployment.
  • 4+ years in designing cloud solutions and supporting production projects, with hands-on experience using AWS services or their Azure/GCP equivalents.
  • 4+ years of programming experience with Linux shell/CLI, Python, SQL, PowerShell, and related tools.
  • 2+ years of experience managing technical delivery teams on complex, high-impact projects.
  • 2+ years in DevOps and leveraging CI/CD services such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Airflow, Terraform, and Jenkins.
  • 2+ years of experience with database development and ETL/ELT pipelines across relational, NoSQL, and graph databases (e.g., Neo4j).
  • 2+ years of deployment and optimization work with Kubernetes, Docker, NVIDIA TensorRT/Triton, RAPIDs, Kubeflow, MLflow, Kafka, and related technologies.
  • Residence within commuting distance to a Deloitte consulting office.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10 percent of the time, depending on assignments and client needs.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
