Senior AI Engineer

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to lead the development, implementation, and productionization of advanced AI capabilities for a fintech AI platform. This role works closely with product and engineering teams to deliver scalable, AI-driven features and to help keep the platform aligned with emerging AI technologies.

Based in Pleasanton, CA, this position is hybrid, with in-office time for commutable candidates of at least 3 days per week. The salary range for the role is USD 210,000 - 263,000 per year.

What you’ll do

• Use leading market AI models to design, build, deploy, and move solutions from concept through production for a diverse set of clients.
• Bring advanced AI models and systems into existing products and day-to-day workflows.
• Design scalable AI systems, including model orchestration, caching strategies, and fallback procedures.
• Monitor and incorporate emerging AI technologies to support ongoing platform innovation.
• Partner cross-functionally to deliver robust, efficient implementations of AI systems.

What you bring

• 4+ years as a Full Stack Software Engineer or similar, with experience delivering, shipping, and testing enterprise-grade software.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience using production-level LLM APIs (including OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google), with strengths in rate limiting, cost effectiveness, and real-time performance monitoring.
• Strong background with data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for AI workflows.
• Experience building production applications using RAG to enhance proprietary data models.
• Practical AI system testing experience, including model evaluation, A/B testing, and post-deployment performance monitoring.
