This role centers on calibration software for quantum devices within Amazon's MQS Center of Quantum Computing, building Python APIs, data analysis pipelines, dashboards, and scalable cloud infrastructure for experimental workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design extensible and user friendly frameworks to run quantum experiments and analyze results.
- Apply the latest quantum calibration methods to scale up to larger devices.
- Enhance performance of experiment and analysis tools to accelerate throughput.
- Create dashboards that let experimentalists monitor and manage the calibration state of quantum hardware.
- Deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure that supports increasingly complex scientific workflows.
- Mentor scientists and document code to enable broader contributions to the codebase.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Java, C++, Python or related programming languages.
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- PhD or 6+ years of applied research experience.
- Experience collaborating with scientists in a research environment.
- 1+ years of experience with calibration for experimental quantum computing.

About the Team
You will join the Software group within the MQS Center of Quantum Computing. The team comprises scientists and software engineers building scalable software that enables quantum computing technologies.
