Senior Applied AI Engineer
Job Description
Amigo is expanding its applied AI capabilities to transform healthcare delivery. The Senior Applied AI Engineer role is onsite in New York City, requiring hands-on leadership of customer AI deployments from discovery to production, while aligning architecture with product and client needs. You will bridge engineering, product, and healthcare customers to deliver practical AI solutions that improve patient care and operational outcomes.

Compensation
USD 200,000 - 260,000 per year
Responsibilities
- Lead the AI deployment for a major healthcare client from initial discussions through production rollout
- Convert vague customer needs into a concrete technical plan with clear owners and timelines
- Make strategic tradeoff calls on what to build now, what to reuse, and what to push back on
- Collaborate directly with customers to maintain honest scope, timelines, and quality throughout the engagement
Requirements
- Experience decomposing hard, ambiguous problems into work that others can own and deliver
- Real hands-on experience with LLMs and agent systems, or the ability to acquire it quickly
- Strong judgment to navigate tradeoffs and the confidence to say no when a proposal falls short
- Proven leadership in architecture, people management, or both
- Low ego, direct communication, and a commitment to high personal and team standards
- On-site work eligibility in New York City or San Francisco
