Job Description
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer and Data Analyst to blend cost estimation expertise with data analytics for Space program initiatives within the PACE team. The role emphasizes developing cost models, designing and deploying dashboards, and delivering data-driven decision support, with primary involvement in Strategic Missile and Defense captures and potential cross-LOB opportunities. This on-site position is based in Herndon, Virginia, and offers a path to impact key programs across the space portfolio.
Location: Herndon, VA (onsite) | Salary: USD 85,500 - 150,765 per year | Education: Bachelor's or master's degree required.

Responsibilities
- Understand and implement proven cost models on relevant captures.
- Perform cross-checks for program estimates.
- Develop and deploy dashboards leveraged by the team.
- Develop and present results to colleagues and senior staff.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Business Development, Program Finance, Estimating, Proposal Management, and ICE around model results.
- Become knowledgeable and available to answer questions around cost estimates and cost drivers.
- Collaborate closely with data science analysts to build and enhance tools and capabilities for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Opportunities to grow and upskill in data science disciplines and technical abilities.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Finance, Math, Operations Research, or any field, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
- High accountability and responsibility with the ability to be a self-starter.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with and understanding of one or more of the following: cost models, data collection, data analytics, systems engineering and/or finance or related areas.
