Job Description

Join HX5, LLC in Brook Park, OH (onsite) supporting NASA’s Human Landing System (HLS) and Moon Base efforts at NASA Glenn Research Center under the GEARS contract. This early career role blends aerospace engineering with independent data analysis and mission assessment, including simulation and reporting that support concurrent analysis cycles across multiple NASA center teams.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver incremental and final results, documentation, and software scripts to support concurrent analysis cycles for NASA’s return to the Moon Base.
  • Review plans for follow-on cycles and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Attend and participate in weekly meetings to provide status updates and support collaboration between HLS and Moon Base teams across NASA centers.
  • Support the Database Technical Lead with database development and ongoing database maintenance.
  • Use GCAS (Glenn Research Center Communication Analysis Suite) to simulate potential spacecraft orbits and optimize mission characteristics through visual representations.
  • Perform analysis and synthesis of data tied to mission constraints and figures of merit to support assessment of HLS and Moon Base site selections.
  • Support database development/maintenance and reporting for concurrent analysis cycles.

How you’ll add value

You will combine MATLAB-based coding with GCAS-driven orbit and communications analysis to produce clear, repeatable outputs for mission evaluation. Your work will inform site selection and mission trade studies by connecting simulation results to mission constraints and performance metrics.
