Senior Data Engineer - Robotics
Job Description
Motion Recruitment is seeking a Senior Data Engineer - Robotics to build and scale data platforms for robotic operations, fleet management, analytics, machine learning, and customer reporting.
Responsibilities
- 100% hands on work across the data stack
- Design and develop scalable pipelines to ingest telemetry data from robotic fleets
- Build data solutions for analytics, operational reporting, and machine learning initiatives
- Create and maintain data models optimized for operational and business intelligence use cases
- Develop real-time and batch processing workflows for robotic system data
- Partner with robotics and software engineering teams to improve data collection and data accessibility
- Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot data quality issues
- Support customer-facing analytics and operational reporting solutions
- Implement data governance, validation, and monitoring processes
- Optimize storage, processing, and retrieval of large-scale operational datasets
- Contribute to architectural decisions for cloud-native data platforms and services
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS preferred)
- Knowledge of ETL and ELT frameworks
- Experience with data warehousing technologies
- Experience processing large volumes of event-driven or streaming data
- Knowledge of distributed data systems and scalable architectures
- Experience with Spark, Kafka, Airflow, or similar technologies
- Strong understanding of data modeling and database design
- Software engineering best practices, including testing and version control

Desired Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of Data Engineering experience

- Knowledge of warehouse automation, logistics, or supply chain technologies
- Experience with Databricks or modern cloud analytics platforms
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment
