Senior Java & AI Engineer

Resolution Technologies invites you to join as a Senior Java & AI Engineer in Plano, TX, on site. This role centers on owning the AI development environment within an agile workforce management software team, shaping AI agents, tools, and workflows to boost velocity, quality, and consistency. You’ll operate in a collaborative, results-focused setting and influence architectural decisions while advancing engineering practices.

You will design, build, and integrate AI powered tooling and pipelines, partnering across stakeholders to accelerate delivery and ensure robust, maintainable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Craft robust, well-documented technical solutions that meet business requirements while aligning with corporate architecture standards.
• Own and continuously refine the AI development environment, including coding agents, tools, workflows, and infrastructure to maximize engineering velocity, quality, and consistency.
• Design, implement and optimize coding agents, prompts, and associated workflows.
• Define and maintain instructions, skills, plugins, and tool integrations to enable seamless automation.
• Assemble tools into a cohesive, agent-driven development pipeline.
• Enable AI assisted Spec-Driven Development from ideation through specification, implementation, and validation.
• Develop solid unit, integration, and automation tests in line with organizational standards.
• Support troubleshooting and maintenance of existing applications; propose and implement improvements as warranted; collaborate with external stakeholders as needed.
• Create technical models and designs for assigned components.
• Contribute to and guide technology choices and architectural directions.
• Participate in design and code reviews to elevate the work of teammates.
• Coach the team toward higher performance by identifying strengths and growth areas and applying targeted coaching techniques.
• Collaborate with the Scrum Team and stakeholders to influence decisions and support project and product initiatives.
• Advise on and contribute to the ongoing improvement of Agile practices across the organization.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of Java web application development experience.
• Deep interest and hands-on experience with AI coding tools and LLM based systems.
• Experience with agents, prompts, MCP/tools, or similar ecosystems.
• Comfort with low level details such as tokens, context windows, latency, and tool orchestration.
• Server-side expertise with Hibernate, Spring, REST Web Services in Java, plus server-side testing with JUnit, Mockito/EasyMock.
• Web application development experience with Angular, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, Spring MVC; unit and end-to-end testing with Cucumber, Selenium, or Playwright is a strong plus.
• Experience with AI assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) and integrating generative AI into the software development lifecycle for code generation, debugging, and optimization.
• Exposure to Vibe Coding style of rapid prototyping, iterative development, and creative problem solving leveraging AI to accelerate velocity.
• Proven track record of driving technical innovation, evaluating and adopting emerging technologies, improving processes, and mentoring others in advanced practices.
• Experience with AWS is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience with multi-tier web application development.
• Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and Test-Driven Development.
• Experience with JBoss or Tomcat.
• Prior experience with MAVEN and Jenkins is a plus.
• Strong understanding of Scrum techniques and artifacts, including definition of done, user stories, automated testing, and backlog refinement.
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
