Job Description

C&L Refrigeration is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Air Conditioning) to support HVAC design-build projects for non-residential facilities. This on-site role in Los Angeles, CA (work includes on-the-road responsibilities) focuses on HVAC calculations, system engineering design, and permit-ready documentation.

Role Responsibilities

  • Conduct complete HVAC system design calculations, including heat load calculations, duct and pipe sizing, routing, and detailed system design.
  • Prepare plans and specifications suitable for permit submittals for non-residential HVAC projects.
  • Specify HVAC equipment and system accessories for layout and integration.
  • Attend job walks to collect field information needed for accurate HVAC system design.
  • Size and design HVAC systems including air-cooled and water-cooled configurations such as AC, chillers, ventilation fans, controls, pumps, and related components.
  • Complete additional engineering and design tasks assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency with EnergyPro, Blue Beam, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in the HVAC air conditioning industry.
  • Knowledge of common air conditioning systems, including heat pumps, package AC systems, split AC systems, VRF systems, chiller systems, boilers, ductwork, and ventilation systems.
  • Familiarity with non-residential HVAC system design and calculations.
  • Knowledge of California building and mechanical codes and ASHRAE standards.
  • An engineering degree and an active California Professional Engineering license are preferred.

Compensation

  • Salary: USD 120,000 - 130,000 per year
  • Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
