Senior Mechanical Engineer (Air Conditioning)
Job Description
C&L Refrigeration is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Air Conditioning) to support HVAC design-build projects for non-residential facilities. This on-site role in Los Angeles, CA (work includes on-the-road responsibilities) focuses on HVAC calculations, system engineering design, and permit-ready documentation.
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct complete HVAC system design calculations, including heat load calculations, duct and pipe sizing, routing, and detailed system design.
- Prepare plans and specifications suitable for permit submittals for non-residential HVAC projects.
- Specify HVAC equipment and system accessories for layout and integration.
- Attend job walks to collect field information needed for accurate HVAC system design.
- Size and design HVAC systems including air-cooled and water-cooled configurations such as AC, chillers, ventilation fans, controls, pumps, and related components.
- Complete additional engineering and design tasks assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency with EnergyPro, Blue Beam, and AutoCAD.
- Experience in the HVAC air conditioning industry.
- Knowledge of common air conditioning systems, including heat pumps, package AC systems, split AC systems, VRF systems, chiller systems, boilers, ductwork, and ventilation systems.
- Familiarity with non-residential HVAC system design and calculations.
- Knowledge of California building and mechanical codes and ASHRAE standards.
- An engineering degree and an active California Professional Engineering license are preferred.

Compensation
- Salary: USD 120,000 - 130,000 per year
