Software Development Engineer (Java & Application Security)

This contract-to-hire role focuses on developing enterprise Java applications while applying strong application security practices to identify, analyze, and remediate vulnerabilities. The successful candidate will work closely with Development and Security teams to deliver secure software.

Responsibilities

• Perform application security scans using Sonatype, Fortify, and WebInspect.
• Analyze vulnerability reports and implement secure Java code fixes.
• Partner with Development and Security teams to prioritize remediation efforts.
• Create and manage remediation tasks using Azure DevOps (AZDO).
• Develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
• Perform unit testing and ensure high-quality, secure code.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and support production applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong hands-on Java development experience.
• Experience with Sonatype, Fortify, and WebInspect.
• Knowledge of OWASP security principles and secure coding practices.
• Experience with Azure DevOps (AZDO) or similar Agile tools.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and unit testing.
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
