Staff / Sr Staff DevSecOps Engineer
Job Description
SciTec is seeking an onsite Staff or Senior Staff DevSecOps Engineer in Princeton, NJ. The role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 96,000 to 141,000, requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or physical sciences, and at least one year of professional DevOps or DevSecOps experience. The position centers on managing CI/CD pipelines, deploying to Kubernetes, and upholding cybersecurity practices across development, testing, and production environments. It emphasizes cross‑team collaboration and delivering reliable, secure software at scale.
Responsibilities
- Oversee integration, security scanning, and deployment of multiple applications within orchestrated frameworks.
- Collaborate with deployment teams to coordinate deployments across development, test, and production environments.
- Create, maintain, and improve Continuous Integration pipelines in GitLab CI.
- Monitor CI pipelines for performance and troubleshoot observed or reported issues.
- Implement and maintain version promotion for one or more applications within CI pipelines.
- Integrate CI pipelines with development tools for artifact management, software testing, and quality assessment.
- Implement Continuous Delivery and execute automated or manual deployments into orchestrated Kubernetes environments.
- Checkout and troubleshoot deployed applications within development and production environments.
- Lead software release processes including release branch creation, integration, checkout, and testing.
- Implement and maintain Helm charts.
- Ensure adherence to cybersecurity protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of professional DevOps or DevSecOps experience building and executing CI/CD solutions.
- Strong experience designing and deploying container-based solutions using Docker, docker-compose, Kubernetes, etc.
- Experience with Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
- Experience with Istio service mesh, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Proven ability to maintain deployment environments for development, testing, and production.
- Experience with authentication technologies such as Keycloak.
- At least one year of professional experience with Python3.
- At least one year of professional experience with Linux operating systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or physical sciences.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Permission to work on-site 100% of the time.
- Detail oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
