Responsibilities
- Plan, design, permitting, funding, and construction of municipal projects
- Mentor staff and collaborate with the Civil team and other offices
- Maintain relationships with state and local authorities
- Communicate with clients regarding current and future projects
- Attend city staff and council or board meetings as necessary
- Support municipal project development
- Assist with client development and business development efforts
- Prepare project proposals
Requirements
- BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- 8 to 15 years of municipal, water, or wastewater engineering experience
- Professional Engineer license (PE)
- Project management experience
- Team player who can manage and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience in sanitary sewer and water main design
- Experience working with local and state government organizations
- Familiar with Illinois EPA permitting and funding application processes
- Enthusiasm for business development
