Job Description

The JAAW Group is seeking an AI Engineer to support the War Data Platform (WDP) Core Integration for the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) within secure Department of Defense environments. The position focuses on delivering end-to-end AI/ML capabilities across design, integration, deployment, and operations, in collaboration with teams spanning ML, data, software, cloud, and cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain AI/ML lifecycle services and reusable components.
Develop infrastructure for the training, validation, deployment, and ongoing operation of AI/ML models.
Support model-serving platforms and enable efficient model inference.
Design and implement automated AI/ML pipelines.
Develop capabilities for model monitoring, explainability, and interpretability.
Apply MLOps practices to support continuous integration and deployment of models.
Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data pipelines meet AI/ML requirements.
Create testing frameworks and maintain technical documentation for AI/ML capabilities.

Requirements

Active Secret security clearance required prior to onboarding.
U.S. citizenship required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience developing, integrating, or supporting AI/ML systems.
Experience with AI/ML development tools, frameworks, or platforms.
Understanding of model development, deployment, inference, testing, and monitoring.
Strong programming, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work onsite in Arlington, Virginia.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience supporting DoD or federal government environments.
Experience with MLOps and automated model deployment pipelines.
Experience with model-serving or inference capabilities.
Experience with model monitoring, explainability, and performance optimization.
Experience integrating AI capabilities into enterprise software or data platforms.
