Job Description

Light Partners seeks a Senior to Principal level C++ Software Engineer specializing in Linux kernel security to join its quantum networking product OS group onsite in the Boston area, with a salary range of USD 150,000 to 200,000 per year.

Responsibilities

Assess and reduce the attack surface of Ubuntu, PetaLinux, and other Linux based systems that are central to the OS used by the product.
Develop and maintain certificate and key management capabilities, including provisioning, secure storage, rotation, and lifecycle management.
Evaluate approaches for secure key storage using technologies such as TPMs, HSMs, PUFs, and other hardware assisted security mechanisms.
Integrate vulnerability scanning, malware scanning, and security testing into development and release processes.
Contribute to management and control interfaces driven by NETCONF/YANG and related technologies.
Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (MS or PhD preferred).
8+ years of professional experience delivering robust, enterprise quality C++ software on Linux-based systems.
Experience building core OS software as part of a platform team delivering features across networking, management, and interoperability services.
Solid understanding of public key infrastructure, X.509 certificates, and certificate lifecycle management.
Design and implementation of security modules within the Linux kernel, with a focus on kernel-space vulnerability mitigation.

Job Description

Arkham Technology Ltd. is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to drive the design and implementation of embedded firmware for network security and defense-grade products in Irvine, California. This onsite, full-time role demands deep expertise in embedded systems and the ability to obtain DoD clearance, guiding projects from concept through validation.

Position overview

Arkham Technology is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer with strong embedded-systems know-how to lead the development and deployment of software solutions for our product line. You will provide technical leadership and ensure the delivery of high-quality embedded software across programs.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, test, integrate and document firmware and software for embedded systems and communication products.
Support software engineering activities including interface design, system integration, code reviews, and validation testing.
Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems.
Produce required project documentation to support contract deliverables, including development plans, requirements and design specifications, and test artifacts.
Develop embedded software for network security applications, covering device management software, communication protocols, device drivers, and control plane security features.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software and hardware solutions.
Manage requirements through decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation processes.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 4 years in embedded systems design.
High proficiency in embedded C/C++ or equivalent systems language.
Broad ability to understand end-to-end network system architecture from wireless physical layer to application end-point.
Understanding of MAC and Networking layers in a communication system.
Deep knowledge of Internet Protocol Security (IPsec), network protocols, data authentication and encryption (TLS, SSL, OpenSSL, X.509 certificates).
Familiarity with various security protocols and encryption algorithms, including CNSA suites.
Experience with low-level hardware driver implementation.
Experience with embedded Linux.
Ability to work in a Bare Metal environment.
Familiarity with ARM architecture.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Willing to travel periodically, as needed.
