Job Description
Light Partners seeks a Senior to Principal level C++ Software Engineer specializing in Linux kernel security to join its quantum networking product OS group onsite in the Boston area, with a salary range of USD 150,000 to 200,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Assess and reduce the attack surface of Ubuntu, PetaLinux, and other Linux based systems that are central to the OS used by the product.
- Develop and maintain certificate and key management capabilities, including provisioning, secure storage, rotation, and lifecycle management.
- Evaluate approaches for secure key storage using technologies such as TPMs, HSMs, PUFs, and other hardware assisted security mechanisms.
- Integrate vulnerability scanning, malware scanning, and security testing into development and release processes.
- Contribute to management and control interfaces driven by NETCONF/YANG and related technologies.
- Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (MS or PhD preferred).
- 8+ years of professional experience delivering robust, enterprise quality C++ software on Linux-based systems.
- Experience building core OS software as part of a platform team delivering features across networking, management, and interoperability services.
- Solid understanding of public key infrastructure, X.509 certificates, and certificate lifecycle management.
- Design and implementation of security modules within the Linux kernel, with a focus on kernel-space vulnerability mitigation.
