Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking a Protective Design Engineer/Architect to join its Protective Design Group in Baltimore, MD on an onsite basis. In this role, you will translate protective design criteria into security components across project work, coordinating with internal design disciplines and client security personnel to deliver compliant construction documents.
This position supports planning and design efforts by developing protective design strategies, reviewing relevant requirements, and producing drawings and specifications aligned with project criteria.
Key Responsibilities
- Review security and protective design criteria, along with applicable codes and standards.
- Develop security and protective design strategies for planning studies and design projects.
- Interface with client security personnel to review and refine design strategies.
- Coordinate between in-house design disciplines as part of a design team.
- Create construction documents, including drawings and specifications, that comply with project criteria.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or BS/BArch in Architecture.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience with security criteria (including Department of Defense and/or Inter-agency Security Committee).
- 5-10 years of relevant experience with concept studies, design documents, and construction phase services.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
