Summary

Goedecke is seeking an energetic, personable and technically capable professional to support our Shoring, Formwork, and Access group. The incumbent will design and supply formwork, shoring, and scaffold solutions (design and equipment) for a broad range of contractors, including our internal scaffold erection team, across a five-state territory. The role is based in St. Louis, Missouri 63147.

General Requirements & Skills

An engineering degree and FE certification are required.
Strong problem solving abilities are essential.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Excel is required; Revit experience is a plus.
Familiarity with construction techniques and details.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
Previous experience with formwork, shoring, and scaffold systems is highly desirable.
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, accuracy and the ability to meet deadlines are crucial.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and printers.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

Job Description

Overview

The Design Engineer leads the design and production engineering for inlet and exhaust systems used in simple cycle and combined cycle turbine configurations. This role guides drafting activities and supports tactical initiatives and field operations.

Essential responsibilities

Serve as the technical liaison with clients to review applications, project specifications, and documentation.
Summarize requirements to support quote development with Estimators, including conducting customer site visits to verify details.
Create, modify, and review fabrication drawings; perform and/or verify design calculations; direct drafting personnel to complete design and fabrication drawings.
Coordinate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Welding Engineering, and Project Management to assemble information needed to complete all technical activities.
File management and organization of electronic records and drawing revisions for assigned projects.
Support activities for unassigned jobs as required by project schedules, including site visits and customer engagement events such as presenting company capabilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited university, or an Associates degree plus two years of industry related experience, or five or more years directly related industry experience showing progression to competency of essential job functions.
Competency with structural steel design and erection preferred.
Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.
Strong knowledge of Combined Cycle Power Generation Systems required, including Filter Houses, Plenums, Ducting, and HRSG components.
Familiarity with ASME VIII Div. 1 design and construction and industry standards preferred, but not required.
Proficiency in design tools preferred, including AutoCAD, Inventor or similar, structural software such as RISA or Tekla or similar, and Microsoft Office products.
