Bank OZK’s OZK Labs is seeking an AVP Senior Software Engineer in Saint Petersburg, FL (onsite) to provide technical leadership, deliver high-quality software, and mentor engineers within an agile delivery environment.
Role Summary
The AVP Senior Software Engineer at OZK Labs partners with engineering and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain software applications. This role focuses on technical leadership, code quality, and mentorship while contributing to architecture and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and maintains software applications by applying coding standards and best practices to ensure timely, accurate delivery.
- Supports team members on complex engineering challenges and mentors other engineers to support their technical growth.
- Works on projects of significant complexity under general supervision.
- Performs effectively in an agile environment, collaborating with other functions and teams with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Provides technical leadership by staying current with modern technologies, best practices, and architecture patterns.
- Contributes to application architecture, engineering standards, infrastructure, and the delivery process.
- Reviews code contributions from other engineers to verify quality and architectural soundness.
- Follows Bank policy, practice, and procedure.
- Completes accurate, thorough, and timely work while meeting commitments and adhering to policies and procedures.
- Completes training as needed.
- Uses discretion, judgment, and critical thinking in performing essential job functions.
- Manages a variety of assignments, interacting and communicating with all levels of management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of software engineering principles, architectural patterns, and best practices.
- Knowledge and experience with modern technologies for scalable, high-performance web, desktop, and mobile applications.
- Preferably experience with ASP.NET, React.js, Vue.js, React Native frameworks; JavaScript, TypeScript, C#; and Azure cloud.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including presentation skills.
- Demonstrated organizational ability, troubleshooting skills, and critical thinking.
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while delivering quality work on time.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a continually changing environment.
- Ability to mentor other engineers and contribute to their growth.
- Ability to contribute to application architecture, engineering standards, infrastructure, and delivery process.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, or commensurate work experience, required.
- Minimum three (3) years of software engineering work experience, or a Master’s degree in computer science or related field plus at least one (1) year of software engineering work experience, required.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience with one or more of: ASP.NET, Node.js, React.js, Vue.js, React Native frameworks; JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, or Azure cloud.
