Northern Trust Corp. is seeking a Senior Associate Software Engineer to help evolve an AI-powered Code Security Scanner platform. This onsite role in Chicago focuses on end-to-end development and platform support, spanning front-end, backend and AI engineering, along with integrations that extend LLM-based security analysis in cloud-native workflows.
What you will do
- Act as a developer for the AI Code Scanner platform
- Drive modernization, enhancements, and scalability initiatives
- Improve user experience through reporting dashboards, workflow management, and administrative capabilities
- Implement secure authentication and authorization patterns
- Maintain and extend orchestration and scanning services
- Expand and manage integrations for LLM-based security analysis capabilities
- Enhance automated vulnerability analysis, reporting, and verification workflows
What you bring
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Mid-level React development experience
- Experience building modern SPA architecture
- Hands-on work with REST APIs and authentication integrations
- Expert-level Python development skills
- Experience with API design and integration
- Comfort working with automation and orchestration frameworks
- Background in test automation and quality engineering
- Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Knowledge of agent-based workflows and automation frameworks
- Experience with application security and vulnerability management
