Sr Associate Software Engineer, AI Security

Northern Trust Corp. is seeking a Senior Associate Software Engineer to help evolve an AI-powered Code Security Scanner platform. This onsite role in Chicago focuses on end-to-end development and platform support, spanning front-end, backend and AI engineering, along with integrations that extend LLM-based security analysis in cloud-native workflows.

What you will do

• Act as a developer for the AI Code Scanner platform
• Drive modernization, enhancements, and scalability initiatives
• Improve user experience through reporting dashboards, workflow management, and administrative capabilities
• Implement secure authentication and authorization patterns
• Maintain and extend orchestration and scanning services
• Expand and manage integrations for LLM-based security analysis capabilities
• Enhance automated vulnerability analysis, reporting, and verification workflows

What you bring

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Mid-level React development experience
• Experience building modern SPA architecture
• Hands-on work with REST APIs and authentication integrations
• Expert-level Python development skills
• Experience with API design and integration
• Comfort working with automation and orchestration frameworks
• Background in test automation and quality engineering
• Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Knowledge of agent-based workflows and automation frameworks
• Experience with application security and vulnerability management

USD 88,900 - 151,100 per year.
