Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Professional Engineer with at least five years of experience in geostructural and construction engineering to join our New York City operation. The successful candidate will participate in financial and technical evaluation, concept development, design, permitting, and construction phases for innovative and challenging projects. The client base spans heavy civil, specialty geotechnical, industrial, general building, and environmental remediation contractors, as well as real estate, industrial, and infrastructure owners. Location and Compensation
Location: New York, NY (onsite)
Salary: USD 92,835 - 120,685 per year
Responsibilities
- Perform geotechnical and geostructural construction engineering analyses for temporary and permanent support systems, drilled shafts and pile foundations, bulkheads and cofferdams, ground improvement, slope stability, seepage, and critical interim construction conditions for heavy equipment.
- Engage in design optimization and value engineering to improve project performance and cost efficiency.
- Conduct geotechnical site characterization to support design and permitting activities.
- Prepare engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, bid packages, and permit applications.
- Carry out fieldwork as part of special inspection services.
- Operate and coordinate travel by personal, company, and rental vehicles to client sites, company project locations or offices, as needed.
- Fieldwork commitment up to 50 percent of time, with overnight travel up to 20 percent.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (required).
- Minimum of five years of related experience in heavy civil and/or geotechnical or geostructural design and construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (required).
- Technical experience in geotechnical, structural, or related disciplines (required).
- Excellent writing and communication skills (required).
- Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).
